For 50 years, the Crain family has been providing the equipment needed to grow a community

From humble beginnings in 1972, Huntsville Tractor and Equipment has grown up right along with the city of Huntsville itself. Over the years, though the location has changed, the mission has not. The mission is to provide the most reliable and knowledgeable source of equipment, service and support in North Alabama.

 

 

 

Our History

1972

J. Bobby Crain moved his family to Huntsville, AL to purchase Huntsville Ford Tractor Sales, Inc. which was located on Clinton Avenue next to Pinhook Creek. They sold only Ford products in this 10,000 square feet facility.

1975

Outgrew the location on Clinton and moved into a brand new 25,000 square foot facility on University Drive, what is now the Earth Fare shopping center across from Madison Square Mall. At that time it was the only business between Sparkman Drive and the east side of Athens, AL.

1978

Expanded the product line to include Ford Construction Equipment.

1991

Product line expanded again to include Kubota Branded Equipment.

1996

Outgrew location and moved to our current location on Research Park Boulevard. This modern 35,000 square foot facility was built to accommodate even more growth.

1998

The name was changed to Huntsville Tractor and Equipment, Inc.

2003

Expanded the line to include Takeuchi Compact Track Loaders and Excavators.
